Vzw Kortrijk Koerse is the organization behind Konvert Kortrijk Koerse. In 2021, this non-profit merged with ‘Wielervereniging Boldershof’, the organization behind GP Marcel Kint. This year, as a team, they launched the Marcel Kint Konvert Classic. Wielervereniging Boldershof was responsible for the race as such, whereas vzw Kortrijk Koerse took care of the VIP event. These days, this event has become a real success, with almost 1,500 VIPS who traditionally celebrate the end of ‘Kortrijk Congé’.
Since a couple of years, vzw Kortrijk Koerse has relied on Wisely for the event’s online marketing campaign. We also support the organization in terms of innovation and digitisation, both behind the scenes and when it comes to communication campaigns aimed at a wider audience. This year again, our team had the pleasure to ensure the VIP event ran smoothly.
In order to manage and follow-up all communications and registrations, we deployed different technical platforms. Registrations and payments for the VIP event and the time trial were managed using an automated ticketing system, linked to a web shop. When guests arrived, their tickets’ QR code were scanned. Easy and quick. Checking the Covid Safe Ticket also was mandatory, for which we supplied all required tablets and knowhow.
Regarding communication to the wider public, we updated the website, Facebook and Instagram page. The website’s facelift meant it now is in line with the new branding of the race and contains all needed information. We also installed the registration tool for sponsors and the time trial in the site.
For the Facebook and Instagram page, we built a content plan to highlight the different aspects of the race, the VIP event and general information, using videos, stories, messages and social advertising. During the event, our team was on site for content capturing, taking photos and making videos for live reporting of the race.
Apart from the online tools, we also looked after the design and production of the village’s decoration (photo walls, signage…), menus, food and drink vouchers and wristbands. Eventually, the day had come. On August 20th, all attendees enjoyed a great race and tasteful VIP event – here’s to the next edition!
