THE CHALLENGE
Traditionally, the last weeks of the summer holiday are the well-known back to school weeks. In this particular time of the year, shoppers are inundated with all kinds of communication campaigns focusing on this theme. To really have the proposition of our clients jump out in the midst of such campaigns wave, we selected the best fit creative concept for every retail park.
OUR SOLUTION
Each retail park has their own specific shops and public, which concretely translates in the need for a customised campaign that fits that particular profile. As always, the aim is to convince shoppers to come and shop at the retail park and/or to ensure every shopper has a great experience during their visit.
For Shopping Pajot for instance, we launched a great online competition to win a hip back-to-school present, filled with all kinds of cool things on sale in the shops at Shopping Pajot. This competition mainly targeted the Pajottenland inhabitants, who live in close proximity of the shopping centre. The competition became a real hit on social media, with hundreds of shoppers participating.
We chose another approach for B-Park in Bruges. When you cycle to school, you know the importance of confidence when riding. In collaboration with ‘De Vlaamse Wielerschool’, we built a cycling skills course , so kids could grow their cycling abilities. Those who completed the course, were rewarded a pencil case filled with pens and pencils and a hip security vest. Who says being safe cannot be cool?
At The Leaf Shopping Ternat, we opted to combine back-to-school shopping with a fun picknick in the retail park’s play area. While parents enjoyed their shopping trip, the kids were entertained with all kinds of activities: a bouncy castle, a crazy balloon artist, trendy airbrush tattoos, sweets handed out by mascot Sofie The Leaf… all to the tunes of a summery playlist. Cherry on the cake: an exciting Facebook competition in which contestants could win a € 150 shopping budget or one of 4 duo entry tickets to Rock Ternat!
